About Rafa

James and Rafa go back over a decade: they first met at Pebble Beach Food & Wine in 2016 (James as a new hire at The Plumed Horse, Rafael volunteering with his culinary program). They went on to work closely together for three years at the Michelin-starred Plumed Horse. Molly joined them in 2017.

Chef Rafael Lopez trained at Diablo Valley College’s Culinary Arts Program and built his career in the Bay Area's top kitchens: from line cook to Sous Chef at Babushka Deli and The Plumed Horse (one Michelin star), with stages at Commis (two stars), SingleThread (three stars), and Californios (two stars). He later served as Senior Sous Chef at Atelier Crenn (three stars) and Bar Crenn, and most recently as Chef de Cuisine at Café Dior by Dominique Crenn in Dallas, Texas.
